Positive Meetings with NCC & Councillors Last Week
Trustees of Bell View met with local Councillors and officers of Northumberland County Council (NCC) at the much-loved local centre in Belford last week, to discuss the closure of the Day Care service.
Proposals to offer an alternative service (once Day Care has closed) were discussed. It is hoped that Bell View, Belford (the charity) will provide a new service with effect from the beginning of February to meet the needs of existing and future clients.
After the announcement, public support for the charity has been overwhelming, with offers of help coming from many directions including North Northumberland MP David Smith and the County Councillors representing the areas covered by the Day Care Service run by Bell View.
Bell View will continue to work closely with our partners at NCC. We are very grateful to both the councillors and the officers from NCC for all their support.
It is important to reiterate that Bell View will continue to operate all other services as normal, including our Bell View Help at Home service and all activities delivered by our charity, including but not limited to social and exercise activities; our community café; room and wheelchair hire and fundraising events.
