On the cusp of Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the 86 extraordinary individuals who make everything we do possible. To each and every one of our volunteers – this is for you.

In North Northumberland, our volunteers are far more than helpers – they are the very foundation upon which our entire operation stands. From the early morning transport runs that ensure no one is left isolated, to the warm, welcoming faces that greet people at our lunch gatherings, our volunteers create connections that transform lives.

Every day, we witness the incredible impact of your dedication. Whether you're behind the wheel providing essential transport links across our rural communities, preparing and serving meals that nourish both body and spirit, or simply sitting with someone who needs a friendly chat, you're making a real difference.

The breadth of support our volunteers provide never ceases to amaze us. Your fundraising efforts help us reach further and do more. Your strategic insights guide our direction and ensure we're meeting the needs of our community effectively. Perhaps most importantly of all, you companionship reminds our service users that they are valued, heard, and never alone.

Each of you brings something unique to our organisation, yet together you create something far greater than the sum of your individual contributions. You embody the true spirit of community care that makes North Northumberland such a special place to live.

We're thrilled to be hosting our Volunteers Celebration Evening on Wednesday, 4th June, where we'll have the chance to properly thank you all in person. It's an opportunity for us to celebrate not just what you do, but who you are – the remarkable people who choose to give their time, energy, and heart to supporting others.

This evening will be our chance to share stories, reflect on achievements, and look forward.  It’s our opportunity to say thank you properly, surrounded by the community you've helped to create and sustain.
